Obituary of Phyllis Isobel Currie
With a joyful heart, Phyllis Currie went to be with her Lord and Saviour on June 14, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Saint John, on May 5, 1933, Phyllis was the daughter of Alan and Leah MacGowan of Hampton. Phyllis attended Hampton Consolidated School, Mount Allison University, UNB and the University of Waterloo. She spent 30 years teaching High School Math, 10 years on pastoral staff of Waypoint (formerly Kings Way Assembly) and 11 years as a volunteer at Kings Way Care Centre. Her passion in life was to serve God and to help others.
Phyllis is survived by her three sons; Ranal (Karen), Harry (Fiona), and Don (Sue), eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers; Don and Alan.
A Celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 3PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Waypoint Church, Kings Way Care Centre or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
