I was saddened to hear of Phyllis’ passing the other day. As a teenager, I attended Kings Way Assembly with my best friend Kelley Moore. Phyllis was a smiling light whenever I would walk into the room, she always came to say hello and when she asked how I was doing, I knew she genuinely cared about my answer. She was easily my favourite person aside from Kelley in that church. I truly believe that our acquaintance was orchestrated by the Creator, she seemed to see right into my soul. Although I am sad she is no longer with us, I know she is home where she is happy and I can almost see the huge smile on her face. Thank you, Phyllis, for being a light to me.

What a shock! I am just hearing about this now! Sending my condolences to the family.
I will never forget her. She was my counselor for many years when I was a teenager at teen camp at Camp Pascobac. She had such a gentle spirit about her. There was no one like her.

Sincere condolences to Don and family on the passing of your mother / grandmother. I met Phyllis at a Math workshop in Sackville during my first year of teaching. Since then, I have encountered her at a variety of venues and events and we would always have an enjoyable chat. She was always interesting and interested, and I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with her over the years. She had a full and wonderful life of service to others. Hope memories of her bring you some comfort and peace at this difficult time. May she Rest In Peace.

My husband and I were saddened to hear that Phyllis passed away last week. She was a dear friend of ours for many years. She was such a cheerleader and encourager to us, as we sought to love and serve our newcomers. For many years she would come and help us in the kitchen at our International Family Fun Days and the people loved her! She always made them feel welcome in our community. She loved others so well and was always so generous with her time and resources. She will be dearly missed by many. We send our deepest sympathy to her family and close community today and pray that our Father will comfort you and hold you close to His heart as you say goodbye.
Much love,
Rhonda and David Peterson

I am so sad to hear about Mrs Currie. She was an amazing person and teacher. The one month of calculus in 12-1 got me through 2 years of calc at university. She was an enthusiastic supporter of all her students and she made us want learn more and do more. Years later I bumped into her a number of times at the Regional where she was doing her pastoral care. Then I found out she was a fellow alumna of Mount Allison University when she showed up at one of the reunions I attended. And then I found her at the Shannex in Quispamsis where she was walking the halls for exercise. She always remembered me and we had great conversations. I send my condolences to her family and friends.

Phyllis was a true ambassador for the Lord. She relished in His presence and eagerly shared that love with anyone who would listen. Her attitude was, "Who wouldn't want to experience this?" I feel enriched by having spent time with her. I can't help but think of the ultimate joy she has being in Jesus' presence. Our condolences to the family. Trena and Ken Moore

To all the Currie family,
Mrs. Currie left a mark in all her students. I was lucky to be a "Currie girl." She was a tremendous teacher in Math.. No matter when I saw her , she stopped and had a little chat.
She will be missed by many. And remembered by many.
Sending our condolences to the family.

Phyllis was such a dear saint of God! My wife Laura and I greatly enjoyed her company on the drive to several Maritime PAOC District Conferences over the years. She was always so kind, creative, and friendly. We will miss her greatly! "The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’"~Matthew 25:23 (NLT)

Ranal, Harry, Don and family, I was saddened to read the obituary for Phyllis. I first met her back in 2002,through the Greater Saint John Ministerial. She attended monthly gatherings faithfully. I recall how she was joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer, (Romans 12:12) She offered words of encouragement and was conscientious in visiting folks in hospital and homes for special care.I am grateful that Phyllis was following the Lord Jesus who said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me though they die yet shall they live." John 11:25 I am remembering you in prayer.
Sincerely

I have just retired from a rewarding 36 year career in IT that was possible because of Mrs. Currie. Whenever anyone asked how I got started in IT, I tell the story of Mrs. C stopping me in the hall at KV, demanding to know why I wasn't registered for her Math 12-1 class (after being in 10-1 and 11-1). She informed me that she would be teaching Calculus that would prepare me for University calculus (she was absolutely correct!), and that she had gotten access to the UNB computer for her students with a terminal in the class and I needed to be in her class - end of discussion. So I dropped an elective course and registered in 12-1, only to discover that I could balance my love of logic and creativity in a world of computer programs and I was off on a career path I hadn't dreamed of previously. Thank you Mrs. Currie. My condolences to her family.

Last time many years ago I had coffee with her in Tim!s, Rothesay.
She told me then of her great church life.
