Mark, Gwen, Garrett & Stuart - I am so sorry for your loss. I treasure the memories of Aunt Joan. There are so many, with all of her smiles and loving support. She was a gift to all who were lucky enough to spend time with her. Driving past her home and seeing the “Tonge” sign always meant love was there. With love, Kirsten

I first met Joan when my husband and I moved to Quispamsis in 1973. She was a stalwart member of both her church and her community and helped me meet the people who lived in our neighbourhood. You couldn't visit Joan without receiving a lovely cup of tea and something to eat. She made every visit special. Time may have slowed Joan down over the years , but she never changed. She was a lovely, special lady and I will hold her gently in her heart

Our Sympathy and Prayers to the family. Joan was one of the best , we got to know her at church and one winter I was able to pick her up and take her to and from church. We had many coffees together with friends after church and then scoot to Rothesay Legion for Breakfast. She was pleasant to be around and was missed the last few years. God Bless you all.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Joan's passing. She was my Mom's best friend, and well-loved by everyone. I have many fond memories of visiting her through the years and meeting her latest feline companion. Her and Bob were integral parts of my childhood and adult lives, and they are missed. Her mocha squares were legendary! Our condolences to Mark, Gwen and the rest of the family.

Mark, Gwen and family,
We were so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. We have such great memories of Joan singing in the choir, cheerfully working at church suppers and visits with her when she shared her love of family and church. Her stories of local history and her early years in Quispamsis were so interesting. This photograph of Joan in her kitchen with a beaming smile is perfect - makes me think of her lemon meringue pie and sugar cookies. She will be missed but will live in our happy memories of her.

To anyone who had the privilege of knowing Joan Tonge, you are blessed. I had the great privilege of attending the same church and my most precious memories are of singing in the choir with Joan....oh how she loved to be part of the choir and even though she never thought she contributed much, I hope she knows what she meant to us. Joan, you will be missed by all who knew you and Mark, Gwen and boys, my thoughts and prayers are with you.....she loved you beyond measure and made sure everyone knew that. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that others are thinking of you today and in the days ahead. Safe Home, dear Joan.

We are very sorry to hear about Joan's passing. She will be sadly missed at our family get togethers. We always enjoyed Joan's baking whether it was her famous mocha cakes, pies, cheesecake or any other treat that came out of her kitchen. She always cared about everyone and had such a great memory. Our kids thought of her as Grammy Joan and found it was like having another favorite grandmother.

Mark and Family. So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing.. I have a lot of great memories over the years, with our families growing up together in Quispamsis.. One of my more recent , favorite was stopping to pick her up for UCW and smelling the wonderful aroma of homemade pickles that her and Gwen had made that morning. She will truly be missed.
