Despite his high standing as a cardiac surgeon in St. John, Sohrab always had time to be a great Dad, a kind friend, and an involved member of the school and the community. He reached out to me when my late husband suffered a heart attack, offering to explain what had happened even though we lived in Bangkok at the time and he was on the east coast of Canada. What a wonderful, loving, and compassionate man, I am in shock that he is gone but his Family is his beautiful Legacy.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sohrab's sudden passing. I met him at a Lower Canada College high school dance when we were 15 years old and accompanied him to his prom. He was the first person with whom I went on a date, during which a trip to the video arcade featured prominently. I was delighted to hear that he maintained an interest in gaming. My memories of him are of a sweet, warm, open hearted and kind person. For my 16th birthday, he organised a game of touch football in the park and baked me an upside down pineapple cake. I ran into him years later when we were 21. He was just starting medical school and was full of excitement of what the future would hold. Please accept my deepest sympathies on your tragic loss. To Deanna, Mr.Sydney, Faisal and families,
Ginette and I are devastated at learning the news of the passing of Sohrab in this morning's Montreal Gazette. I can still remember chatting with him when he came to the pharmacy in Châteauguay. He was a medical student then and I was trying to influence him in coming to practice in Châteauguay where, like everywhere else, there was a crying need for doctors of his calibre.
Mr Sydney, you and your late wife, whom we remember very well, must have been very proud of your own and your children's accomplishments. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. You will always have treasured memories of Sohrab with which to remember him.

To the Lutchmedial Family - I was devastated to read of Sohrab's passing in today's Montreal Gazette. Sohrab and I knew each other well during our senior years in high school and then again while he was studying at McGill, when we lived across the hall from each other on Summerhill. He was my dancing partner at all the school dances and a dear friend. I just adored him. He was kind and funny and energetic, compassionate and caring - even as a teenager. I am deeply saddened by this news and would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues. What a terrible loss. Tanya Das Neves, Montreal, QC

We in the department of Emergency Medicine in Saint John, Along with all our colleagues in the medical community, are deeply saddened and shocked by the premature passing off our friend and colleague Dr. Sohrab Lutchmedial. Sohrab was a truly extraordinary physician and person who contributed so much to the life of the hospital, to those he worked with and those he cared for. He cannot be replaced and he will be warmly remembered for many years to come. His involvement in innovation, research, teaching as well as his clinical commitment to his patients was notable. He had so much energy and enthusiasm for everything that he did yet took the time to get to know all of those around him on a personal level. Thank you for all you contributed to our shared vision Sohrab. Rest well our friend.

seventeen years ago this remarkable surgeon and man saved my husbands life by inserting five stents. Last year, he again found himself in Saint John. He didn’t have Dr. Lutchmedial this time but enquired if Dr. Lutchmedial was still there, he was assured he was. When that Doctor told Dr. Lutchmedial a former patient was singing his praises, he came right in to see my husband. He was as warm and friendly as he remembered! I remember my husbands first visit and how this doctor, who looked barely old enough to be in Junior High School took the time after the procedure to explain everything to us in terms we would understand! He made us feel at ease and most importantly, we knew he genuinely cared! We never forgot him or his wonderful smile on hat lit up the room, when he walked in! Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family but especially his children! Cherish all the wonderful memories you have of your dad and hopefully that will bring you some comfort in the days ahead! The service was beautiful and with such a close knit family (especially your uncle) I know, you will contact nue to thrive. Oscar and Starr Boucher, Riverview, N.B.

Our deepest condolences to Sohrab's family and friends. He was our friend, colleague and mentor and helped us settle in Saint John. His skills in the cath lab were legendary. We will miss his costumes on Hallooween. A red top wheels car given to me by Sohrab when I joined, as newspapers at that time were carrying news of some Ontario communitiies presenting cars to physicians for recruitment, still sits on my desk, a testament to his humor and friendship. On Friday while doing an EP clinic, a patient requested me to give his condolences to you. He had met Sohrab only once, but was touched by him. He reached all parts of the world with his research. My fellowship director in India, Dr Yash Lokhandwala, also sends his condolences from Mumbai, India. Rest in Peace Sohrab, you have lived a life in these short years which many would require three lives to achieve.

Deepest condolences to all of you for the loss of Dr. Sohrab Lutchmedial. Sohrab was a friend and mentor. I marveled at his ability to be everything to everyone, and yet he did it all with great imperturbability and really a spirit of joy. He was truly a renaissance man.
The impact of his loss is difficult to appreciate and is felt by so many, not just here in New Brunswick, but across Canada. I have received numerous emails and calls from across the country from colleagues and friends expressing disbelieve and sorrow. This is a testament to Sohrab's character and fellowship.

Zachary, I remember your dad coming into our class with an amazing experiential learning opportunity about the circulatory system he had clearly put tremendous effort into. He did all of those little things for you all. I lost my father this same day and I hope we all keep our fondest memories close and hold them tight for many years to come.
