Obituary of Marilyn Louise Evans

Marilyn Louise Evans (Stevenson) passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday July 5, 2014 after a courageous battle with Cancer. Marilyn was born on June 7, 1943 to the late John (Jack) and Eileen (nee Lewis) Stevenson. She was the loving and devoted wife of Jack Evans for 46 years. Marilyn enjoyed the outdoors and had a great appreciation for nature. She spent many years as a positive role model with the Girl Guides of Canada and served as the District Commissioner of the Fundy Region. She was actively involved at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where she served on various ministries and worked as the Parish administrator for thirty-two years. She will be fondly remembered as an enthusiastic hockey fan and supporter of all local teams. One of her greatest pleasures in life was her grandchildren and she enjoyed supporting and watching them in their various activities. Marilyn was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She always had a positive outlook, full of energy, spirit, and zest for life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Jack Evans, daughter Krista (Darren) Bishop of Quispamsis, son Gregory (Robin) Evans of Rothesay, brother John (Katherine) Stevenson of Wilmot, NS, sister Patricia (Timothy) Withers of Quispamsis, grandchildren, Jillian & Andrew Bishop and Laura & Sarah Evans, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the many special friends who supported them and Marilyn over the years. Thanks also to Dr. A. Reiman, Gina Burrows and the Oncology team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and support. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
