Obituary of Mary Olive Cooke

Mary Cooke, wife of the late Robert H. Cooke, passed away on March 19, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 19, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Olive (Prince) Donovan. Mary worked for Revenue Canada. She loved her family, and enjoyed her many visits with them. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening, knitting, quilting, and going for walks by the river. She is survived by her sons Brian Cooke (Christina) of Quispamsis, David Cooke (Deborah) of Dartmouth, daughters Lynne White (Gerald) of Rothesay, Suzanne Dockrill (Perry) of San Diego, CA, siblings Barbara Pickard of Pasadena, CA, Douglas Donovan (Betty), Jack Donovan (Carole), and Janet Devlin (Paul), all of Rothesay. Mary is also survived by grandchildren Bridget Aucoin (Jeff), Cynthia Newcombe (Charles), Andrew White (Elizabeth Levangie), Angela White (Christopher Morrison), Julia Cooke, Jillian Cooke, Lauren Dockrill, as well as great-grandchildren Katherine Newcombe, Olivia Newcombe, and Nathan Morrison. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her sister Jeanne Tweedie, and a brother-in-law, Charles Pickard. The family would like to thank Dr. Griffin, as well as the nurses and staff of 3D South for their wonderful care and assistance. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
