Obituary of Karen Marie Ryder-MacNair
Surrounded by her family, Karen Ryder-MacNair, wife of Gordon MacNair, passed away on August 13, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Chatham on September 5, 1957, she was the daughter of Stanley and Marie Sleep of Coles Island. Karen retired from Canadian Blood Services after 22 years and enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, quilting and sewing and calligraphy. She was known to be an excellent cook.
In addition to her husband, Gordon, Karen is survived by her parents, Stanley and Marie Sleep of Coles Island, her children Terri Turrell (Chris), Kerri-Anne Ryder and Craig Ryder; step-children Chris MacNair (Debbie), Karen Trecartin (Mike), grandchildren Madison, Sean, Josh, Matt, Will, Nick, Julia, Casie, Devan, Hayden, Victoria, and Taylor. She is also survived by siblings Cindy Connor of Devon, AB, Paul Sleep (Darlene) of Penobsquis, Laurie Sleep of Quispamsis, and Chanda Klassen (Paul) of Chipman. Karen was pre-deceased by her grandson, Myles.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 11:00 am. For those who wish, remembrances to the S.P.C.A, Liver Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
