We were very sorry to hear of Andy's passing. Alison and I always enjoyed when he and Jane came to town. Andy was always a pleasure to chat with over a glass of his favorite. Jane, Jen, and Craig its a sad time, but you have great memories of a wonderful guy. This poem seems fitting: Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away to the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, That, we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect. Without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner. All is well. by Henry Scott Holland

I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Andy well from our graduate student days at Western. I was thinking about Andy the other day because of his Scottish accent. There was another grad student at Western when I got there named Isabel Lee. Isabel was born in Scotland, had been in Canada for a year but had completely lost her Scottish accent. Andy had been in Canada for 15 years but sounded like he just arrived. I'm sure Andy will be remembered by many but especially by his fellow grad students. Virginia and I share your loss. Please stay in touch. Jim Mentall

Jane, I was so sorry to learn the news about Andy. I have fond memories of starting my career with him and particularly enjoyed his easy going manner and incessant good cheer. He was hugely conscientious and meticulous about anything he undertook and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Late in his career I remember walking into his small work space piled with twice his weight in paper and being amazed at his ability to easily retrieve a report I wanted to read. His kind presence was an asset to his colleagues. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time for you and your family.

Jen, So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Whenever I'm in Oakville Acres picking up my daughter at a friend's house, I often think of your parents and our summers at the barn. Your Dad never complained if we came in smelling a little horsey. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Cherish the memories and may they bring you comfort always.

Andy was a mentor when I started a career in Health Physics. Whatever the task, he would do it carefully, correctly, and document everything - in triplicate. Always jovial, it was a pleasure to learn from him.

Jane, Craig, Jenn, Margy, Mark and Ted, I wanted to be with you today in person to share memories of Andy, but please know I will be there in spirit and you are all in my thoughts. For days now, I have been running through my many memories of Andy. As a young child, he was like a second father, one who lived in the house next door, and in our house sometimes (and I remember his pipe!). And as I grew up, I learned to appreciate and enjoy his sense of humour, his intelligence and the perspectives he shared - I think I always learned something when talking to Andy. I remember the first time he met Helen, then still a toddler. Andy got down on the floor and played with her. And for me, that really captured Andy. He was so kind and so gentle, and he was fun! Over the last few years when I have had visits with Andy, his smile, his humour and his humanity are what I remember most. I am so very sad that he is gone, but I am so fortunate to have known him and I am so thankful for the memories I have of him. I know that you will all miss Andy terribly, but I hope that you will share laughter amongst the tears as you remember him. My thoughts are with you all. with love, Sue (and the family)

Dear Jane, Craig, Jenn and the rest of the family, Lee and I want to send you our deepest condolences. Andy was a kind and good man, and while it was too infrequent, we always enjoyed our time with him so much. I was the lucky one though, having known him from as far back as I can remember! I am sorry we can't be with you on this day, but know that you are close in our thoughts.

Jane and family, please accept my regrets and sincere condolences on Andy's passing. I will always remember the times when Andy was the someone I knew and trusted to discuss ideas, thoughts, and concerns to and come out with solutions, a path forward and generally a smile. I respected his work ethic and enjoyed the carpool discussions re many things - oh yes the bird club activities as well. I will miss Andy as a friend and loyal co-worker. Jane, Craig and Jen all the best in this time of grief.

Sorry to hear about Andy (we used to car-pool to work, way back) and him being a dedicated employee bringing so much of his work home daily showed he cared about his job, and even at times he would be so engrossed in it he would forget it was time to go home. As i live away from Quispamsis on my retirement i will not be able to attend his memorial services, but he will be sorely missed so I give you and your family my condolences.
