Obituary of Arthur Ernest John Lewis

Surrounded by his family, Arthur Ernest John Lewis, of Quispamsis, husband of Doris (Groundwater) Lewis, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 14, 1941, in Roachville, NB, he was a son of Mary (Riley) Lewis and the late Ernest Lewis. Known by his friends and family as Art, he spent 25 years as a full service firefighter before retiring and doing small engine repair. He was a hard worker as well, eager to help if anyone ever needed anything, Art was there. Family and friends were Art's priority at all times. This was especially prominent in doing things with and for his grandchildren, he was a loving grandfather, and was active in their lives. There was never a time you would not hear Art telling stories, he adored cracking jokes and sharing his life with others. Besides his wife and mother, Art is survived by his children: Margaret (James) Fleming, Robert (Kelly) Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis (Lori Bunnell); brothers, Robert (Celine) and Edward (Connie); grandchildren: Vashti, James, Aaron, Riley, Aiden, Kyla, Morgan and Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
