Obituary of Stella Ellen Barkhouse
The family of Stella Ellen (Wile) Barkhouse, of Quispamsis, wife of the late Willis Barkhouse announces her passing which occurred at her home. She was welcomed into heaven on Friday November 23, 2018. Born in Wile Settlement on January 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Caroline Wile.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Linda Walker; grandchildren: Sherry (Eric) Price, Craig (Natalie) Walker and Alyssa Walker; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Desirae, Daniel. Alexi and Sophie; and great-great-grandchildren: Charlie and Benjamin; siblings: Jean Collard, Irene Church, and Orland "Bob" Wile; sister-in-law: Violet Churchill; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Boyd, son-in-law Douglas Walker, grandson Gregory, sisters: Marjorie (in infancy) and Mildred, and brothers: Wylie, Charles and Willis.
Stella was an active member of the Falmouth Baptist Church when she lived in NS. In recent years, she enjoyed attending the True Life Church in Quispamsis. She was a talented quilter and has made quilts that have been sold to people as far as London. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visitation on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, NS at a later date in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Stella may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
