Obituary of Anne Tennent Campbell
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne T. Campbell, wife of David H.L. Campbell, announce her passing on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Anne was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Tennent) Campbell and was raised by her loving Aunt, Jean Campbell.
After falling in love at 15, Anne and David later were married in 1967, moved to Canada together later that year and returned to become permanent residents in 1974, moving to NB in 1975. Though Anne was a proud Canadian, she loved her home country of Scotland and enjoyed traveling there. Anne spent her working years as a project manager, a job she enjoyed because it allowed her to exercise her excellent organization skills. She was also the "chief organizer" with many community associations including the Rothesay School of Highland Dancing, Kennebecasis Rowing Club, KV Minor Hockey Association and was the President of Rowing NB. Anne loved to watch her children participating in the sports they loved. Anne was not only a doting mother to her own children, but of her children's friends as well. During their 51 years of marriage, Anne and David spent time traveling to the Carolinas, especially Myrtle Beach where Anne loved to beach comb and spend time with her husband. Anne loved her grandchildren and was incredibly proud of her children. She always had a busy house, full of family and close, cherished friends.
In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her son David John Campbell and her daughter Kirsten Anna Campbell Beach (Jason); grandchildren Parker, Gregor, Lauren and Graeme; and in Scotland, her sister, Morag Willox (David), several nieces and nephews and other family members; as well as her wonderful friends of 50 years. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Emilie.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119). In keeping with Anne's wishes there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held from St. Luke's Anglican Church, 12 Quispamsis Road, on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
