Obituary of J. E. Burton Guidry - C.L.U.
Surrounded by his family, the passing of Joseph Edward Burton Guidry of Rothesay, wife of Dora (Katruk) Guidry, occurred on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Chatham, NB on August 24, 1926, he was a son of the late Omer and Theresa (Barry) Guidry. Burt spent his working career with Canada Life Assurance, first as an agent then with Home Office in Estate Planning Division. He was very active in civic activities in Fairvale, Rothesay, and Saint John. Burt was a fine person and a true gentleman, he will be missed by all that knew him
Left to mourn, his wife Dora, of 62 years, his son J. Barry Guidry (Laurie) of Calgary, AB, daughters; Mary Ellen Guidry of Onoway, AB, and Judith M. Guidry-Hill (Steve) of Rothesay, NB, special niece Anne Guidry of Grand Cayman, BWI, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sylvia Guidry of Fredericton, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burt was predeceased by his brothers; Edward, Gerald, and Barry Guidry.
In keeping with Burt's wishes, there will be no visiting. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11AM. Interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
