Obituary of Lena Mary Jarvis
It is with heavy hearts the family of Lena Mary Jarvis announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, June 18, 2018. Born in Saint John on July 10, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Cyr) King.
Lena was a kind, generous and faithful woman. In her earlier years, Lena worked as a secretary at the General Hospital Laboratory. After retiring, Lena donated time at the local food bank and taught kindergarten. She loved travelling to Florida, enjoyed Bingo and Rumoli and spending time with her dear friends. She treasured her time with her family and especially cherished the moments with her grandchildren.
Lena is survived by her son, Brian Wayne Jarvis; daughter, Karen (Mark) Morrison; grandchildren: Jacob Wayne Morrison and Meghan Leigh Morrison; partner Gary Murphy; brother, Ronnie (Patsy) Roy; sisters, Freda McGrattan and Rita Goleniec; several nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wayne George Jarvis, sisters: Jenette Brown and Edwina Henry and brother Leon Roy.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Lena may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Lung Association of NB or a charity of one's choice.
