Obituary of M. Elizabeth McKnight

The family of Bette McKnight announce her passing on March 8, 2018 at the Shannex Complex, Quispamsis. Bette was born in Newcastle, NB, on September 20, 1923. She was the daughter of the late J. Graham and Greta McKnight. Bette received her education in Saint John and moved to Montreal, Quebec where she graduated from the Montreal General Hospital, and continued nursing career in Montreal until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of The Riverside Golf & Country Club, and volunteered at the Saint John Regional Hospital for several years. She also enjoyed many travels after retirement. Bette is survived by two nieces and two nephews, Gary (Kathy) of Quispamsis, Lynn of Rothesay, Wayne (Lori) of Niagara On The Lake, Kim Caddell (Peter) of Halifax, and sister-in-law, Barbara of Rothesay. She was predeceased by her brother Bill in 2015. The family wishes to thank the staff of Concord Hall, Shannex, for their compassion and care they showed Bette. In keeping with Bette's wishes, there will be no visiting or funeral service. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
