So very sorry for your loss of such a great man. I knew him from conferences as I lived in Fredericton many years ago. Then on to P.E.I. He came over here to speak at a funeral. In his talk he said that when we die we are taken home to that God who gave us life. He said it with conviction and emotion. He touched my heart. But I have known President Hilchie for many years and he was a wonderful example to me. I loved him dearly. I was so sad to hear he had passed away. But I know he was happy to see his God,who gave him life. He will reap his reward as he was a good and faithful servant. We were privaliged to have known him.

Dear Eleanor, we were saddened to learn of Regs passing. He was a wonderful man who served the Lord so diligently. We recognized his love of the temple and the sacred work he performed as a sealer during the time that we served together. He was always kind and compassionate to us during the times that we visited New Brunswick. During this time of sadness we know that you will receive comfort from your knowledge of the gospel and the love of the Saviour. With love and blessings, Roy and Hilda.

Helen and the entire Crandall family/ neighbours posted a condolence
Dear Hilchie Family, All of us- Brett & Linda, Susan, Helen Scott and I and our family- were shocked and so saddened to hear you have lost your Dad, as we know how close you all are as a family. He was a much-loved man. Our memories of Reg are of a robust, busy, active person who invested tremendously in his children and grandchildren, in their mission trips, in their summer time at their home near Helen and Bud's. We never met Reg without Elanor being close behind or together as they kindly shared what they had with their friends and neighbours, often bringing Helen lovely home-made treats and meals or inviting her down to their pleasant family occaisions. His ilness had limited his activity but he was still encouraged to enjoy life by his loving and devoted Elanore and his family. God bless you all through this time of grief and may your happiest memories and your faith in the Savior carry you through this loss.

Eleanor & family. I have thought about what I could say about Reg for 4 days now. I would give him an F for the life he lived. F for faith...tremendous, strong faith in God & our Saviour, Jesus Christ. F for family...the proof is evident. F for fun...Reg had fun (or made it) where ever he went. F for finance...think how many people's lives were improved by his work personally & through his former colleagues. F for fair...he definitely tried to handle challenges presented him in a fair manner. F for fitness...Reg always looked younger than he was & I could never out walk him no matter how hard I tried. F for fiesty...anyone who knew him knew his was a competitor. That is why we both loved the Habs...they would compete. For all of those F's he gets an A plus in my books. I know you will miss him, but he is at peace. God Bless all of you! Unfortunately I will not be with you this weekend...but my prayers are with all of you.

Sorry to hear about Reg, please accept my deepest condolences. When I first moved to Rothesay in 1981, Reg & Eleanor were the first on my door to welcome me with best wishes, food & an invite to play on his hockey team. He then took me under his wing to provide me with his wealth of financial directions & I will always be thankful for that. He was a great hockey player, team mate & yes a super Hab fan!! We will surely miss him. Love you Reg Peter & Teresa
