Obituary of Nellie Gertrude Farnham
Surrounded by her family, the death of Nellie Gertrude Farnham, formerly of Fredericton, wife of the late Rev. Roy Farnham, occurred at Shannex Embassy Hall on Friday, February 2, 2018.
Born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, on July 28, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Geneva (Harvey) French.
Nell was very committed to her family and after being widowed, retrained and found employment with the provincial government for several years. She was actively involved at Christ Church (Parish Church) in Fredericton. She also volunteered for many years at the Chalmers Gift Shop. Nell experienced and enjoyed many wonderful trips.
She is survived by her three sons: David (Bev) of Quispamsis, John of Red Deer, and Bob (Trish) of Australia, grandchildren: Laurie, Daniel, Nellie, Daisy, Stephanie, and Chris, six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Roy and parents, Nellie was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Bud, and sisters, Louise and Irene Ingersoll.
Our family extends our sincere appreciation for the care and compassion Nell received over the past 4 years at Embassy Hall (Shannex, Quispamsis).
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Thursday, February 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Saint David's United Church, 7 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2PM. Interment to take place at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Sussex Corner at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, or Diabetes Canada.
