Obituary of Michael Kennedy Steele
It is with great sorrow the family of Michael Kennedy Steele announce his passing on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at his residence in Nauwigewauk, NB. Born in Saint John, NB on October 3, 1950 to the late Joseph and Edith Steele.
Michael is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Joan Steele, stepson David Boudreau (Natasha), brother Joe Steele, sister Barbara Sicard (Wendell), niece Tamara Steele (Dave), nephews; Gregory Steele (Hilary), and Michael Steele. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughter Kaylee.
He was predeceased by his sisters; Joanne and Mary Jane Steele.
Michael enjoyed dairy farming and never complained about the stressful and strenuous aspects. He was a very positive and humorous individual. Mike had many interests, but it was gardening, four wheeling (his wheelchair), fishing, birding and wildlife sightings that brought him the most joy. He brightened your day and was everyone's friend. We will all miss him profoundly.
In keeping with Michael's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Visiting will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2-4 PM. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
The family of the late Michael K. Steele would like to thank everyone for their support at this difficult time. It was of great comfort and meant the world to us knowing how much Michael was loved and respected. The outpouring of condolences, sympathy cards, food, flowers, sharing funny stories and memorial donations are greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank caregiver Dolly Beyea and Lisa, Natalie of Extramural and staff, for their special care and kindness.
