Obituary of Paul Alexander Harris
Surrounded by his loving family, Paul Alexander Harris peacefully passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on August 26, 2017. Born on January 6, 1947, he was the husband of Betty Harris and son of the late Alexander and Gertrude (Mills) Harris.
Paul will be greatly missed by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Betty; daughters Elaine Richardson (Rob) and Heather Brittain (Jeff Hopey); brother Owen Harris; sisters Irma Goodwin and Gwen Service; grandchildren Chad, Ryan, and Breanne Tissington; Devon, Adrian, and Jake Brittain; Surfil Gebrelibanos; great grandchildren: Tony Lordon and Mason Hibbs-Brittain. Aside from his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister, Dawn Neill; brother-in-law Charles Goodwin and nephew Peter Goodwin.
Paul was known as a humble, gentle man. He was the consummate good neighbor, who was always lending a helping hand. For 26 years he was employed by Northern Telecom and from the early 90’s until June 2017, Paul was the manager for KV Lanes in Quispamsis. He was well liked by many of the regular bowlers and it was easy to make friends with Paul.
Paul holds a very special place in the hearts of his grandchildren. Whether it was telling stories around a campfire, making wooden bows and arrows, having a backyard sleep-over in the tent, or talking about life and what was right and good, his grandkids loved to just "be" with him.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, E2E 3S6 (849-2119), with visitation on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital SICU, Valley Christian Academy, or the Gideon Bible Society. Online condolences can be made at www.KennebecasisFH.com.
The family of Paul wishes to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the Saint John Regional Hospital SICU for their care and attention to Paul and their kindness to the family. We will never forget you.
