Obituary of Lloyd Elmer Sherwood
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Lloyd Elmer Sherwood on January 25th, 2025, after a short illness at the Sant John Regional Hospital.
Lloyd was born March 9th, 1933, raised in Quispamsis NB, Lloyd had many jobs throughout his younger years of life from working in gas stations and garages along with the town of Rothesay. After testing his life skills, Lloyd landed a School Bus driver job which became his passion for well over 30 years. He sure did enjoy the interaction he had with the kids and parents and had the same route for most of his career. He would often boast to his son Lloyd Jr, who also drove for a couple years, how he has never had an accident over all the years he drove.
Lloyd’s passion was family and watches, family ALWAYS came first, and family always stick together, this he instilled in Pat and Lloyd jr. Lloyd’s watch collection is something to brag about, he has collected well over 1000 watches over the years and had a story for each and every one, in Lloyd’s later years in life he slowly passed the torch to Lloyd Jr NOT the watch collection, just the job of working on them along with changing batteries to ensure they are all working properly. Lloyd had many comments on his watches while he was in the hospital from the nursing staff and doctors as he had a watch on either arm to showcase some of his collection.
Lloyd will be greatly missed by daughter Pat (Sherwood) McHugh of Quispamsis NB, son Lloyd (Nancy) Sherwood of Fairfield NB, grandchildren; Jocelyn (Josh) Malley of Hampton NB, Justin (Lauren) Sherwood of Sherbrooke, AB, Judy Mackinnon, John Allan Mackinnon of ON, great grandchildren; Sarah, Jordan, Amelia, Joy and fur baby Heidi, along with nieces and nephews. Family by heart Paul White of ON.
Lloyd was preceded by his parents Lee and Helen, wife Edith, daughters; Pamela, and Shirley, granddaughter Cari, brothers; Robert, and Hazen.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the first responders along with the emergency staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital and a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of 3C South for the exceptional care given to Lloyd during his stay.
