Obituary of Margaret Elsie McIntyre

With an appreciation of a life well lived, the family of Margaret Elsie McIntyre, wife of the late Douglas McIntyre, are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, January 16, 2025, peacefully at her home in Saint John.

Born on April 15, 1930, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Jensen) Kelly. Margaret was employed as a Ward Clerk at the Saint John Regional Hospital for many years until her retirement. In her younger years, she enjoyed skating and watching her daughter grow. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and had a keen eye for jewelry, where she became wonderful friends with the ladies at Charm Jewelers. Margaret's fierce independence and determination allowed her to be in her home till the end. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Judi White (Stephen) of Darlings Island, granddaughter Melissa Scichilone (Giuseppe) of Riverview, brother John Kelly of Sarnia, ON, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Besides her parents and husband, Margaret is predeceased by her sister Thyra Campbell, brothers; Robert, Charles, Leon, David, Peter, Ted, and Thomas.

The family wishes to thank the “Charmers” for the wonderful support and friendship they showed Margaret throughout the years.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 11:00 – 1:00 PM, following Margaret’s service at 1PM. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Margaret can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
