Dear Aunt Amy, Leslie, David & Kathryn,
So sorry to hear of Uncle Gerry’s passing. He really was such a kind and gentle person, something to aspire to! One of my favourite memories was seeing Gerry on a quick layover in Vancouver. Being with Gerry and my Dad as they caught up and reminisced over a nice whisky was super special. It was very clear how much love and admiration they had for each other despite how far apart they had lived for so long, something I will never forget. Lots of love to Gerry, Amy and the whole family!

Dear Amy
I am so sorry to hear of Gerry's passing. Barb and I wish you and your family strength in this very difficult time.
Although we have not been in close contact in recent years I have fond memories of my time spent with Gerry at Carleton U., in the years we were together in the UNTD, in our Western ski trips, in our visit to NB and on the one cruise we went on together.
Gerry was a great friend and he will be missed.
We hope you will call on us when you come back to Ottawa sometime.
Love, Don and Barb Percy

Dear Amy, I am so sorry to hear of Gerry's passing. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Gerry was a faithful member of St. Paul's Senior Choir for most of my time as director. It was a pleasure having Gerry in the choir. We had many fun times together and shared more then a few good laughs. If ever I had a legal question, he was always helpful and his professional advice greatly appreciated. He will be greatly missed.

Jim and I enjoyed Gerry's friendship over many years, even prior to our return to New Brunswick to retire. We remember Gerry's love of the outdoors, the pleasure he took from attending to his beautiful property, his love of skiing with friends and family out west, his devotion to St. Paul's, Rothesay, and his work with the Rothesay Heritage Trust. On a personal level, we remember fondly his kindness and attention to my parents in their senior years. We always admired Gerry for his quiet intellect, his fundamental dignity and decency, and his devotion to his family. We will miss him very much and send our most heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

So many great memories . To many to post here. But a couple of examples. Myself, Chris Carruthers Peter, Tom Leggett and Don Percy shared many wonderful ski trips from Tremblant, US, and western Canada. Gerry was by far the best skier amongst us. He was the moderator during our many enthusiastic discussions and out chief stake chef.

Although my involvement with Gerry was almost always on a professional level ,the manner in which he performed in my courtroom spoke volumes about the man as a caring, and compassionate human being. Always low key , but forceful if necessary in presenting his case , he exemplified everything a lawyer should be.On a more personal level , when we had a chance to chat at some of the bar functions, his love of life and family shone through. The legal profession has lost a shining example of what a lawyer should be . …Judge Bill McCarroll

Our condolences. This is very hard to hear. Gerry was a pleasure to work with. I remember when I first came to Lutz Longstaff as it then was. I still have his plant in my office. I remember him bringing in his dogs. I also remember my first Trial as a student - David had sent me across the street and I quickly convinced Gerry to come with me. I remember some scotch tastings too after hours. He will be missed. Carley Parish, K.C.

This obituary was one I never wanted to read. Gerry practiced Law with me from 1994 to 2012. Every day I spent with him was a good day and a day that I could learn something from him. He was a kind and generous man. Soft spoken, but with great intellect and reasoning. Although I had not seen him for several years, I often wanted to consult him on issues in the practice but realized I couldn’t. I join his family in morning like I have very few others. I was saddened to read of Gerry's death. I worked closely with him at Lutz Long staff law office in Hampton. He was an outstanding lawyer to whom I often turned for advice and counsel. Gerry was the embodiment of integrity and "class" .. the ultimate gentleman. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My first year in Rothesay and NB Gerry was always looking out for me as a neighbour and close family friend. We shared a love of walking the woods behind our houses and looking at the health of the trees, for which he so enjoyed maintaining them and the trails - daily. Gerry's kindness and thoughtfulness will always be memorable to me as he was very supportive and generous with his time to visit and chat.
