Obituary of Peter Wilshaw
It is with broken hearts, the family of Peter Wilshaw, husband of Jan Wilshaw, of Quispamsis, announce his passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on October 19, 1950, in Staffordshire, England, he was a son of the late Arthur and Florence Wilshaw. Peter was a Chartered Accountant, starting in London, England, then moving to Bermuda from 1980-1985, before settling in New Brunswick. Peter’s love for bird watching cannot be overstated, which gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world. He and Jan loved to travel, as well as spend time working on their magnificent garden. Peter was known for his sense of humour and storytelling. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Besides his wife, Peter is survived by his sons; Benjamin (Amanda) of Bermuda, and Matthew (Michelle) of Rothesay, grandchildren; Aiden, and Angelina, as well as many friends.
Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his first wife Angela Wilshaw (mother to Benjamin and Matthew), his brother John “Big John”, and his sister Mavis.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. There will be a celebration of life in the summer of 2025, when the garden is at its best.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). Donations in memory of Peter can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
