Obituary of Joseph William Emery LeBlanc

With heartfelt sorrow, the family of Joseph William Emery LeBlanc, husband of 60 years of the late Sandra (Flynn) LeBlanc, announce his passing, which occurred on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 3, 1944, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Laura (Gautreau) LeBlanc.

Joe enjoyed a successful 45+ year career as an industrial insulator, a job that took him to work sites throughout New Brunswick and the Maritimes as a journeyman and later, foreman.

A lover of nature and the outdoors, Joe spent many happy hours moose hunting, deer hunting, and fishing, first with his father, and then with his sons. He was a passionate guitar and banjo player and especially enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music. He loved his family and was dearly loved in return.

Joe is survived by his children: Gerry LeBlanc (Jennifer), Brenda LeBlanc, William LeBlanc, Joseph LeBlanc, and Raymond LeBlanc (Jennifer); grandchildren: Christopher, Vincent, Kyle, Sarah, Rachel, Laura, Madison, Finn, Benjamin, Samuel, and Elizabeth; sisters: Mary Saunders, Theresa Brideau, and Patricia Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his cherished wife, Sandra, Joe was predeceased by his infant grandson, William.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). In keeping with Joe’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family funeral liturgy.

Donations in memory of Joe may be made to NB Lung, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
