Obituary of Carol Ann Wright
Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Carol Ann Wright, wife of Malcolm Wright, occurred on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on February 28, 1946, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William and Edna (Doucette) Mardsen. Carol was employed as a custodian for over 20 years at Kennebecasis Valley High School, retiring in 2008. Carol enjoyed playing Bingo, in her later years, she turned to KOC TV Bingo, it was learned fast to never call during those hours. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Carol was an avid knitter, knitting sweaters for her children when they were younger. Carol adored her family and loved watching her grandchildren grow.
Besides her husband, Carol is survived by her children; Rob (Allyson) of Rothesay, Michael (Juliana) of Rothesay, and Kimberly Wright-Asselstine (Tim) of Kingston, brother Donald Mardsen of Saint John, sister Anita Phillips of Saint John, beloved grandchildren; Jacob McClintock (Mashayla), Ryan Wright (Mikayla), Kamryn Asselstine, Brooke Asselstine, Bentley Wright, and Emilia Wright, great grandchildren; Kylah McClintock, and Oakley McClintock, her best friend Kathy Fougere, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Carol is predeceased by her parents and brothers; Bob, Roy, and David.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1 PM. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Carol can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
