I started working for Allan a couple of months ago and have known Allan as a very kind hearted person always wanting to share everything he had. He was very courteous and always appreciates everything you do for him no matter how little. He was intelligent and always showcases his versatility on various topics whenever he had a chance. Allan loved his peanut butter but most importantly his chocolates, he always wears a big smile whenever he gets a chocolate. Allan loved his wife Kelly and always talks about the great memories they have.
I remember Allan and i remember some great memories and I know that he is resting with the angels

My love to Kelly and family. Cousin Allan was always quick with a laugh, always smiling and generous. I remember many card games with mom and dad and Ervin and Joan and family over the years. Allan perservance and joyous demeanor despite his illness was amazing, I'm sure in no small part to his loving wife. He will be greatly missed.

I didn't know Allan before his illness. I could have, we're close in age and he would have been in the same schools as my husband but I didn't know him then. All I can surmise is he was living a happy successful life and then ALS happened.
As a Healthcare worker I've seen the ravages of this disease and the quick deterioration of patients. But with Allan I saw a miracle. Here was this man, unable to move a single muscle yet able to feel every itch, every pinch, every pain. And this man would smile at me and ask "How've you been??" How have I been? ME? This person who couldn't so much as scratch his nose and was completely at the mercy of hospital staff, managed to endear himself to every person who entered his space. He became an inspiration to me. Minor things stopped bothering me - my thoughts would turn to Allan any time I felt sorry for myself and my inner voice would yell "appreciate every little thing!"
Allan had to put up with a lot of discomfort but didn't complain. In fact, he did amazing things from the confines of his bed thanks to a brilliant technological set up. He kept his family close, talked to them every day; he managed his family affairs, including the coordination of his mother's transfer into nursing care.
Allan was up to date on current events and would chat about various sports teams, world news, and politics! One day not too long ago I walked in and he said "Denise! Did you hear Trump is selling bibles now?" and we enjoyed a good laugh over the irony of that particular marketing scheme.
Allan loved all things space - the solar system, the universe, and the idea of infinity. He knew about the James Webb telescope before it was cool. If I ever had a random question I would think "Oh I'll have to ask Allan the next time I see him!"
This beautiful soul made such an impact on all who came in contact with him, I pray he's with the stars now. I will never ever forget him.
