Obituary of Ivy Mona Gunter
Ivy Gunter passed away on May 18, 2024, at Kingsway Care Centre in Quispamsis, New Brunswick. She was born on November 17, 1920, in Schumacher, Ontario, daughter of Ralph and Ellen Calverley.
She met and married the love of her life, Garth Gunter in Kingston, Ontario. During her lifetime, she was a radio engineer, singer, seamstress, volunteer, and a dedicated wife and mother. She travelled extensively with her husband, Garth, after his retirement. Ivy always put others before herself and helped whenever she could possibly make a positive difference. She was an avid reader and loved listening to music often singing along with it
Ivy was predeceased by her parents, her two brothers Dick and Hugh Calverley, her husband Garth, and her twin daughters Carol Tobia and Claudia Morelli.
She is survived by her two sons. Peter (Karen) of St. Catharines, Ontario and Russell (Beth) Gunter of Quispamsis, NB. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all her friends who visited her at Kingsway which helped to brighten her days. We would like to especially thank the dedicated staff at Kingsway who unfailingly treated her with understanding and kindness.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). A Graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery, Westmorland Road, Saint John on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM.
