Obituary of Alice Alexia Claira LeBlanc

It is with broken hearts, the family of the late Alice Alexia Claira LeBlanc, wife of the late Herbert Hardy, announce her passing on Monday, May 7, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born on January 29, 1935, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Alexia (Blackley) Hosford. Alice was a seamstress for New System Laundry in Saint John before moving to British Columbia, where she was employed with Bonnie Bright Dry Cleaning. She always made a point to get to know the customers. Alice was a member of the Women’s Institute in BC. After many years, she moved back to Quispamsis, she loved taking bus trips, and listening to music, she was known as being a social butterfly. She would call everyone she knew on their birthdays, that birthday call will be missed by many.

Alice is survived by her sons; Gregory LeBlanc (Sherri) of BC, and Charles LeBlanc (Jodi) of Fort McMurray, AB, daughter Shari Styran (Ed) of BC, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great  grandchildren, stepson Eric Hardy, step daughters, Janice Grigg, Pam Corrigan (Chilly), and Brenda Lee Gorveatt (Roy) and their children and grandchildren; her best friend of 82 years Yvonne LeBlanc as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family, besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers; Roy, Lloyd, Tom, Bliss, Leslie, Bill, and Perry, sons; Thomas and Paul, her daughter Deborah, granddaughter Krystle, and best friend Gerry Collrin.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at 5CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their kindness and caring they showed our mom during her stay there. We would also like to thank Alice’s niece Anne who was a wonderful caregiver to mom.
