Susan, Kate and Hope and your whole family. We just recently learned of your mother's passing. Sorry for the late condolence. Many memories of your family are brought to mind. We used to meet your mother shopping a few years ago and always had a great chat. Again other sympathies go out to you and your whole family. Bill and Phyllis Bennett

Mrs. Hunter was the first person I met when I moved to Rothesay. She was a guiding presence in my life for over 31 years. I have repeated her first piece of advice to me many times over the years….Watch what you say, everyone is related to everyone else! So true! And Mrs. Hunter was my guide to the who’s who of Rothesay! Her memory of names and events was amazing!
Mrs. Hunter was wonderful to my kids, who she knew from birth. She helped them with school projects that involved Rothesay history and was always interested in their lives.
When there was controversy over the Rothesay Common rink project, Mrs. Hunter was my cheerleader and supporter. She even found a photo that pre dated the covenant which was at the centre of the controversy that was used to argue for change. Her photo and a letter explaining it were part of the Town’s presentation to the legislature!
I have visited Mrs. Hunter regularly over the last many years that she has been less mobile. I have so enjoyed spending time with her. I will miss her friendship.
I am sorry not to be at her funeral service and celebration of her very well lived life. Please accept my condolences.

To Sue, Kate and Hope, I want to express my sincere condolences for your loss .
Mrs Hunter is a memory that goes back to the 1950s when her children and my Family siblings and I, grew up in Rothesay Park each summer. They were many great times-- at the R,othesay Beach,, the swims at the Ray's Lake in French Village, the Tennis Club , Boat Club , the Rothesay Pony Club, with Mrs. Oland ,Diggles Store with Mr. Diggle , the Rothesay Post office with Mr Puddington,, Harry Miller the lone Policeman the Kennedy House ,RCS, Netherwood etc.
Mrs Hunter was always there, every summer. I have nothing but fond and pleasant memories of her presence, with her sharp wit and historic knowledge..
In her latter years, my Val and I use to visit Hope at her cottage on the Kingston Peninsula. She was as sharp as ever--her memory of yesterday and yesteryear were equally as good. There was no change to memory or knowledge or sense of humour She was amazing Her vitality lasted forever. A great Lady .
We will all miss her.
My thoughts and prayers are with Susan, Kate and Hope
Sincerely
George Teed

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mum, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. What an incredible legacy she leaves! You will indeed have so many wonderful memories in which to take comfort.
I was so impressed with Hope's spunk and vitality--well into her 90's--when I visited daughter, Hope, in New Brunswick some 12 years ago. Daughter Hope and I had stopped at a local market to pick up a fish and veggies for dinner. Hope had prepared and served a really yummy dessert.
Please know I am thinking of you.
Elaine (McPhee) Stefanick (friend of daughter, Hope)
