Obituary of Kenneth Hector Reid
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Kenneth “Ken” Hector Reid, of Quispamsis, husband of Linda (Reicker) Reid, announce his passing on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Born on November 12, 1943, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Hector and Rose Reid. In his younger years, Ken was an avid sportsman, playing baseball, and hockey. He was employed with Irving Pulp and Paper as a Millwright for 35 years before his retirement. Ken and Linda enjoyed travelling to Florida every year, where he enjoyed watching spring training for the Blue Jays. In his later years, Ken enjoyed watching sports, and playing pool with his Mill friends. Ken was a member of St. Andrew’s Kirk United, Hammond River. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife of 58 years, Ken is survived by his daughters; Jill Foss (Dennis) of Truro, NS and Stacey McIntosh (Andy) of Quispamsis, grandchildren; Melissa Gear (Nick), and Kaitlyn McIntosh (Ben), and Alex McIntosh, great grandchildren; Rory, and Anneliese Foss, and Ezra Gear, brother-in-law Paul Reicker (Cathy), sisters; Janet Swan (Holly), and Myrna Coy, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ken was predeceased by his grandson Dr. Matthew Foss, sister Muriel Bates, brothers; Louis and Edwin Reid, sister-in-laws; Connie Reid and Susan Reicker.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). Visitation will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 11-12 PM, with a Funeral Service following at 12 PM. Friends and family are welcome to attend a reception at the funeral home following the service. A private family interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Romero House.
