Obituary of Irvine Douglas Wright
It is with broken hearts, the family of Irvine Douglas Wright, husband of Heather (Carson) Wright, announce his passing on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on November 10, 1942, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Douglas and Margaret (Irvine) Wright. Irvine was a mechanic with SMT, White Motor, Bayview Int. and Western Star where he retired after many years. Irvine had many nicknames, Brud, P.P., Diz to name a few. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and dancing. He was a member of the Ignitors, Car Club, and was an avid Nascar fan. In his later years, he enjoyed cooking, and watching wrestling. Irvine was well known for his Christmas decorations at his home, lighting up the street just in time for the Santa Claus Parade.
Besides his wife, Irvine is survived by his children; Deborah Chaffey of St. George, and John Wright of Rothesay, sister Esther McKnight of Alburn, NS, grandchildren; Crystal Wright, Timothy Chaffey (Kasey), Matthew Chaffey, and Michael Chaffey (Jennifer), great grandson Theo, nephew Jeff McKnight (Ellen), great nieces and nephews; Sarah, and Brooke McKnight, and Ashton and Fallon Greene, as well as extended family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Irvine was predeceased by his parents, brother Billy, niece Jill Greene, and brother-in law Burton McKnight.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Hospital, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506-849-2119) with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 1PM. Interment will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Quispamsis. Those unable to attend, the service will be livestream, and be viewed on Irvine’s obituary at www.kennebecasisfh.com . For those who wish donations, may be made to Parkinsons Canada.
