Obituary of Wendy Elizabeth Whynot
It is with broken hearts, the family of Wendy Elizabeth Whynot, wife of Robert Whynot, announce her passing on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on July 2, 1962, in Saint John, she was a daughter of Paul and Joan (Lizotte) McHugh. Wendy was the owner and operator of Checkers Hairport in Rothesay, serving the community for 40 years as a hairdresser. She enjoyed playing Touch Football, and was an avid Patriots fan, celebrating every goal triumphantly. Wendy supported the Romero House by delivering many pots of soup to help the community. She enjoyed crafts, a love of gardening, weekends away with the Camper Girls, and weekends with her parents at their summer home on the Washademoak Lake, but most of all spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons Leland and Rowen, who were her pride and joy.
Besides her husband and parents, Wendy is survived by her children; Garrett Whynot (Meghan Landry), and Tiffany Whynot (Brad Drew), both of Rothesay, sister Cathy Barry (Gregory) of Wickham, NB, brother Donald McHugh (Gaby) of Mexico, grandchildren; Leland Drew, and Rowen Whynot, mother in law Margaret Whynot, sisters-in-law; Judy O’Donnell (Harry), Brenda Taylor, and Jennifer Tarrant (Scott), as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
