Obituary of Louise Taylor

It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Louise Mary Esther Taylor (Weezie), wife of the late Frank Taylor, announce her passing on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Born on August 30, 1945, in Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Annette (Houle) Emmerson. Louise was employed in her early years at Irving as an Administrative Assistant, then working in the department of SPD at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the late 1980’s. When Louise and Frank started their family, nothing made Louise prouder than raising her 3 girls and owning her own successful business, Louise’s Ceramics in Quispamsis. Louise and Frank had a special relationship with so much love for one another. Their respect for each other was shown by how they worked together as a team in both their professional and personal lives. Louise volunteered at her children’s school where the students would walk to her ceramic shop during their activity period to create their projects, but most importantly created lasting memories. For many years, she donated a ceramic Christmas Tree to help with fundraising at her children’s school. In the early 1990’s, Louise volunteered at the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital where her tea biscuits were a huge hit.

During her winter months, Louise was an active member of the YMCA in St. Petersburg, FL. She enjoyed participating in aquatic fit classes and was given the nickname of the social director by her friends. As her role of social director, she provided many opportunities for her friends to connect and make wonderful memories. She was a proud member of the Valley Cruisers which was sparked from her early interest in sports cars. She loved attending rallies and events with the members. Louise and Frank shared many adventures cruising around in their convertible mustang. After Frank’s passing, Louise continued travelling to Florida with her side kick, “Thelma” while they carried on constant shenanigans. Louise also enjoyed playing Rummoli with her friends and gathering with her sorority sisters. In the last 10 years, Louise discovered her love for karaoke and could often be found singing at weekly venues before the pandemic. Louise was very creative and found joy in many things she tried. She especially enjoyed baking with the grandchildren. Louise will be missed by all who knew her.

Louise is survived by her loving daughters; Kim Taylor (Edwin Nickerson) of Quispamsis, Beth Taylor of Moncton, and Heather Porter (John) of Quispamsis, brothers; Richard Emmerson (Bernadette) of Rothesay, Philip Emmerson (Lisbeth) of Shediac, NB, cherished grandchildren; Andrew, Taylor, Isaac, Leah, Jack, and Cameron, and as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family, and her granddogs, Theo and Casey.

Besides her husband and parents, Louise was predeceased by her infant son Mark Andrew.

Louise’s family would like to thank the staff of KV Extra Mural, Saint John Regional Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and kindness.

In keeping with Louise’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral Service will be held on the Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 10:00 from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119).
