Obituary of Norma Annabelle Bishop
Norma Annabelle Bishop, wife of Bill Bishop, passed away peacefully at Kings Way Care Centre on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Born in Saint John on May 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Margaret (Fraser) Hatfield.
Norma was a Teacher of English for several years at Simonds High School, until her retirement in 1964. She was heavily involved at Germain Street Baptist Church, where she was the first woman Moderator. Norma was on the board of Acadia Divinity College, and involved with the Coverdale Board. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and was an avid artist.
Besides her husband, Norma is survived by her son Andrew Bishop (Ann) of Rothesay, daughter Lorna Pond (Neil) of Quispamsis, sister Shirley Hiltz (John) of Truro, NS, grandchildren; Hilary, Heather, and Keith, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506-849-2119) with visiting on Friday from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Kennebecasis Funeral Home. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
