Dear Janet, Mary Rose & all your family, We are so very sorry for your great loss! What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful, precious mother & grandmother--that sea quote alone says much about her spirit! Your love for her & hers for you will live on in you; may you be covered in comfort as in one of her knitted blankets. Hints of her lovely namesake are very visible in this vintage photo. You have our deepest sympathy--Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers--Huge hugs to both of you!

Some of my best memories of Mary were when we visited over Christmas. Mary would greet us with a welcoming smile and hug, a huge lunch followed by Christmas Carols around the piano with Martin joining on on the fun and shenanigans sending us all off with laughter and tears in our eyes.

Aunt Mary was the first real musician I ever knew. She banged out tunes on the piano without sheet music and doing do with energy and command. Finding the choir album amongst the LP collection, with her picture on it, confirmed her status as a true legend. Thank you Aunt Mary for beautiful memories: Ones I carry with me all the time. Dear Gallagher, McGlade and Ranby family,
I am sorry I only met Mary a few times, but with every interaction I saw her beaming with love and pride in her beautiful family. At my wedding, Wendy generously shared Mary’s recipe for Apple Pan Dowdy and noted that every time she made it Mary said “Makes your eyes pop out and your tummy say howdy”. I am going to make this tonight to remember Mary. I hope all of your memories of Mary are sweet. May she always be remembered for a blessing.

My sincere condolences to Wendy, Janet, Patrick and John on the passing of your beloved mom. I remember the times spent with your mom and dad years ago discussing the issues of that era. Especially the issue of your mom and Paul's upcoming recording session, The delight and excitement they shared was evident by their happy smiles. I remember your mom as a sweet. gracious and kind soul to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Again my condolences.

What I remember most about Aunt Mary is the music and the most wonderful strawberry tarts. As children we would call her Mary Martin to differentiate between the two Aunties named Mary. You will be in my thoughts.

To the Gallagher Family:
Aunt Mary opened her home for so many of us. She once took me in for a whole week so I could go to ballet camp as a kid.
