It is with broken hearts, the family of Robert Gary McIllwraith, of Calgary, AB, announce his passing on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Born on August 30, 1963, in Saint John, he was a son of Robert J. McIllwraith (Joyce Smith) and the late Ruth (Kyle) McIllwraith. Rob was employed with the Town of Quispamsis for over twenty years, before moving to Calgary with his family, where he was owner and operator of RGM Tile Inc. Towards the end of his career, he returned to his preferred line of work, working in Arena Operations in the City of Calgary. Rob felt most happy at the rink with the boys. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and played with the Men’s Hockey League in Quispamsis. He loved to travel, taking him, Diane and Scott to Europe, Hawaii, through Western Canada and returning to New Brunswick in the summer to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved camping, spending time in the Rocky Mountains, and Dune Buggy trips with Scott and his family in the Martin Head area in New Brunswick. Rob also loved spending time with his family pets.
Besides his father, Rob is survived by his wife Diane Charron and his son Scott McIllwraith, both of Calgary, AB, his brothers; Stuart of Quispamsis, Keith McIllwraith (Brenda) of Norton, sisters; Wanda McIllwraith of Quispamsis, and Christa McIllwraith (Tim) of Quispamsis, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
