Obituary of Tom Brooks
With an appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Thomas Archie Brooks, sadly announces his passing on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. Born in New Hampshire on February 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Dow) Brooks.
During his life, Tom worked in varied careers, but he always considered himself a salesman at heart. His love for his work with his kind and gentle spirit, endeared him to all who had the privilege to work with him or were lucky enough to call him a friend. His interest included; ancestry, sports, and coaching his son’s baseball teams, but his real enduring love was for his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 52 years Terry, sons; Matthew (Sonya) and David (Logan), brother Frank (Anne), sister-in-law Sharron Johns and his beloved grandchildren; Averi and Madison, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother Doug.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Bobby’s Hospice for their care and compassion. To Dr. Art Kristofferson, Dr. Scott Bagnell, and Dr. Lisa McKnight, our heart felt thank you. Also, to the extra mural staff but especially to one person, Melody (RN), who guided us through the toughest of times. Words can never express how grateful we are to everyone who was there in our time of need.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no funeral service but a gathering to celebrate Tom’s life on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 2-4 PM at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). A private interment will take place in Ontario at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tom may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
