Obituary of Nathan Alexander Worden
It is with profound sadness that the family of Nathan Alexander Worden announces his unexpected passing which occurred in Labrador, on June 17th. We are devastated and know that so many share in our grief.
Nathan was born on Feb 4, 1981, to Tara (McLaughlin) Worden and Barry Worden. He welcomed his brother Aaron in 1982.
Nathan grew up in Summerville, on the Kingston Peninsula, surrounded by a large circle of family and close friends who were all so important to him throughout his 41 years. He attended school at MCS in Kingston, Hampton High School and UNB Fredericton. He was the guy who made the effort to maintain all the friendships formed along the way and the one who ensured our family get togethers continued even as our family grew. The youngest members of our family all loved Nathan who made every event even more special by sending mail, baking cakes, always remembering birthdays, and most importantly giving them his time and genuine attention.
Nathan had so many friends whom he loved, and he enjoyed the time he spent with each one. Whether it be going to dinner, planting a garden, tiling someone’s floor, shingling a roof, bowling, game night or cooking, he was always the first to offer. We will never have a turkey carved again like the chef style plate he presented at family/ friend dinners.
We cannot begin to explain to those who did not know Nathan just how exceptionally thoughtful, selfless, kind, and generous he was to everyone. He was the one who didn’t just think about doing something, he did it. He was so loved by so many.
Nathan started working at ADI/EXP, through the Youth Apprenticeship Program, which was the beginning of a 25-year career. He was such a hard worker who was loyal to the core and had wanted to see the highway project in Labrador completed. He had been travelling to Labrador for years as Supervisor for materials testing of this project.
Nathan leaves to mourn his mom Tara, his father Barry, brother Aaron (Julie), nephew Sam, Grandmother Joan Worden, his best friend Wally Gamble, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and co-workers. All the “kids” in Nathan’s life will especially miss all the extras he did for them.
Nathan was predeceased by his grandparents Bill and Nancy McLaughlin and Vaughan Worden.
We keep in mind Nathan’s own words as we begin to navigate life without him… “Can’t worry about that… life changes too quick, too often and too unplanned!”

Arrangements under the direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). A Graveside Service will be held at St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Chapel Grove on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 1:30pm, with a Celebration of Nathan’s Life to follow at St. Bridget’s Community Hall after the graveside service.
