Obituary of Colby McKay
It is with broken hearts, the family of Sandy “Colby” McKay, of Norton, NB, husband of Gail (Griffith) McKay, announce his passing on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Ward’s Creek, NB, on March 19, 1948, he was a son of the late John and Louise McKay. Colby was employed with Moffatt’s Farms for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. He was known as being a handy man and taking on new tasks. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Besides his loving wife, Colby is survived by his stepsons; Shawn Long, and James Long (Meghan Farrell) both of Norton, his brothers; Angus, Danny (Leona), Eldon, Charlie (Diane), Melburn, Elmer (Diane), and Sydney (Diane), sisters; Alice, and Uevellia, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, Colby is predeceased by his brothers; Walter, and Milton, and sister Madeline.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Chambers, and Dr. Hastings, as well as the staff and nurses at 4BS and 3BN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and compassion.
In keeping with Colby’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A gathering to celebrate Colby's life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 2-5 PM at Gail and Colby's home, 132 Riverview Drive West, Norton. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
