Obituary of Marcella Ann Martin

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marcella Ann Martin (nee Reid), announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at her residence with her husband, Don Moors, at her side. She passed the way she wished to.

Born on April 6, 1946, on Bell Island, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Sarah Reid.

Marcella will be remembered as being a strong, confident, and kind woman who loved to travel, enjoy her garden, shop, decorate, spend time with her family, and keep an immaculate home. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and was so proud of them. Marcella enjoyed spending time with Don at home just relaxing, sharing in one another’s company, and on “their special trips to the sun” together. She unconditionally supported everyone in the family in their individual endeavours and is sorely missed by them all.

She is survived by her husband, Don Moors (Quispamsis, NB); son, Jeffrey (Kristen) Martin (Corner Brook, NL); daughter, Bonnie Martin (Moose Creek, ON); Don’s children, Donald Moors (Christine) and their children (Ottawa, ON); and Leslie Moors (Tracy) and their grandchildren (Battersea, ON); grandchildren Reid Alexis and Macy Jane Martin; her special family from Newfoundland: Megan, Kaytlyn, Barry Sr., Barry Jr., Brendan, Stephanie (Stephen, Catherine, Claire), Johnny, and Susan St. Croix (Don); many nieces, nephews, friends and the family dog, Muffy, who continues to be in the care of Reid and Macy Martin. Marcella was predeceased by her first husband, Brian D. Martin, her sister Margaret Mary Fitzgerald, and her parents.

Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Marcella’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A special service will take place on Bell Island, Newfoundland, where her heart always was, at a later date where Marcella will be reunited with her parents. Donations may be made in memory of Marcella to the Oncology/Radiation Unit, Saint John Hospital Foundation at https://thegive.ca/, please specify SJRH Oncology/Radiation.
