Obituary of Dannie E. Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of Dannie Smith of Rothesay, beloved husband of Dawn Masten, announce his death which occurred on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Gordon and Edna Smith. Dannie is survived by his wife’s family, precious grandson, Connor Masten; children, Alida Masten and Peter Masten; biological sons, Kirk, Shawn, Darren, all of Saint John and Dannie of Alberta; sisters, Carol (Orvele) and Emma (Leo), both of Ontario; brothers, Jimmy of Quispamsis, David (Carolyn), Raymond (Hilda), Walter (Dudder) and Donnie (Ruth), all of Saint John and Gordon of Lower Millstream; several grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dannie was predeceased by sisters, Doris Mcgaghee, Phyllis Jacquard and Elizabeth Driscoll and brother, Leonard. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday, November 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A celebration of Dannie’s life will be held from the chapel of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home on Friday, November 23, 2012, at 11:00 AM and will be immediately followed by a reception.
