Obituary of Thomas Edward Ferris
Tom Ferris of Saint John, husband of Dolores (Delvallet) Ferris, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the loving care of Bobby’s Hospice on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012. Born in Saint John on May 8th, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Carney) Ferris. Tom was employed as a firefighter with the Saint John Fire Department for 33 years and retired as lieutenant in 1995. After retirement Tom co-owned and operated Jorrock Stables. Besides his loving wife, Dolores, Tom is also survived by three daughters, Kristine Waugh (Tim) of Rothesay, Andrea Tait (Sean) of Quispamsis and Diane Ferris (Gavin Pettigrew) of Rothesay; two sons, Michael (Michelle) of Edmonton, Alberta and David of Saint John; five precious grandchildren, Keith, Marissa, Cameron, Kirk and Abigael. Besides his parents, Tom was also predeceased by his sister, Mary Craig. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Tuesday, March 6th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012, at 10:00 AM. A reception will immediately follow the Mass, at St. Joseph’s H.O.P.E. Centre. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John.
