Obituary of Frank Albert Merryweather
The death of Frank Merryweather of Rothesay, husband of Dorothy (Finnegan) Merryweather, occurred peacefully on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton on May 20th, 1925, he was the son of the late Frank and Sarah (McKay) Merryweather. Frank loved nature and took pleasure in gardening and fishing. He was also an avid Blue Jays fan. Frank was a faithful member of Holy Trinity (St. Martins) and St. Augustine’s (Quispamsis) Anglican Churches. Besides his loving wife Dorothy, Frank is also survived by three daughters, Bette Merryweather (Sylvain Gadbois) of Saint John, Barb Merryweather of Carleton Place, ON and Susan Reid (Jeff) of Quispamsis; two sons, Bill of Toronto, ON and Jim (Lisa) of Oakville, ON; three special grandchildren, Julia, Ben and Rachel Reid; as well as two aunts, Jesse Jonah and Mary Kirkpatrick, both of Sussex. Besides his parents, Frank was also predeceased by his son Frankie and sister Jean Merryweather. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119 with visitation on Friday, February 24th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, 239 Quispamsis Road, Quispamsis, at 2:00 PM. A reception will take place immediately following the service, at the church hall. Interment will take place in St. Martins Anglican Cemetery, at a later date.
