Obituary of Evelyn Leola Day
The death of Evelyn Day of the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton, formerly of Quispamsis, wife of the late Roland Day, occurred Tuesday, June 14th, 2011, at her residence. Born in Chipman, on August 17th, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Pearl (Henderson) Morrison. Prior to her retirement, Evelyn was employed at the Saint John Regional Hospital as a ward clerk on the maternity floor. Evelyn was a very social person who had so many wonderful memories of her time spent with family and friends. She especially treasured time spent with her precious grandchildren who will always remember her as loving and devoted. Evelyn was an active member of Rothesay Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in the Ladies Fireside church group. Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Pam Rioux (Yves) of Miramichi; two sons, Quentin Day (Beth) of Ontario and Gordon Day (Janet) of Hampton; two sisters, Mildred Daye of Chipman and Beth Busson (Ernest) of Fredericton; six grandchildren, Gregory Day (Larissa), Heather Brooke (Tom) and Kathryn Day all of Ontario, Jennifer Partridge (Corey) of Halifax, Jillian Henrikson (Travis) and Michael Day (Nicole) both of Hampton; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Rothesay Baptist Church, 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis, on Saturday, June 18th, 2011, at 11:00 AM. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will take place in Chipman Baptist Cemetery at 3:00 PM. For those who wish, donations may be made to Rothesay Baptist Church or to the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre.
