Obituary of Rosalie Dawn Ewart

The death of Rosalie Ewart of Rothesay, wife of the late William “Bill” Ewart occurred Sunday, November 14th, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 6th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Chedore) Connolly. Rosalie graduated from Mount Carmel business school. She entered business and relocated to Toronto with Warner Brothers Pictures in the late 1950s. Upon returning to Saint John, Rosalie met and married her beloved Bill and raised their family. She returned to the work force and finished her career in retail with Marks and Spencer. Rosalie and Bill had a fifty year love story and were truly inseparable. They shared many adventures together as they traveled extensively throughout the world. She was social and loved going to the gym. Rosalie treasured time spent with her family, especially Saturday dinners with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Rosalie will be sadly missed by her four children, Keith Ewart of Quispamsis, Stephen Ewart (April) of Calgary, Jeffrey Ewart of Saint John and David Ewart (Christine) of Ottawa; four sisters, Viola Stephens (Harold), Doris Casey, Joan Ryan all of Saint John and Elizabeth Godin (Cedric) of Cobourg, ON; twelve grandchildren, Billy, Brent, Andrew, Matthew, Katie, Jillian, Emma, Alex, Ben, Ian, Grace and Jane; Cheri Ewart of Saint John; sister-in-law, Marie Connolly of Cambridge Narrows, nephew, John Ryan of Saint John; several other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, James and Leonard Connolly. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Thursday, November 18th, 2010, at 12 noon. A reception will follow the Mass, in the church hall. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
