Obituary of Leah Geraldine Schryer

The death of Leah Geraldine Schryer (neé Uren) of Rothesay, NB, occurred on Monday, July 5th, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Brantford, ON, on November 29th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Blake Sr. and Oro Uren. Leah is the beloved wife and soul mate of Jim Schryer for over 57 years. Leah and Jim met at Acadia University in 1949 and were married in 1953. In 1952, she graduated from Nursing at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, while receiving an award for Proficiency in Bedside Nursing. Everyone who knew her would agree that she was a classy lady with a fantastic sense of humour and a great sense of style. Family meant everything to Leah and she meant everything to us and she will be greatly missed and will be forever in our thoughts and memories. Leah is survived by three daughters; Ashley Livingstone (Fraser) of Quispamsis, Robyn Ritter (Bruce) of Rothesay and Cindy MacLean (Scott) of Stellarton, NS; three sons, Scott Schryer (Mary) of Quispamsis, Blake Schryer (Darlene) and Robert Schryer (Christine), both of Orillia, ON. Leah was “Nana” to eleven grandchildren: Erin and Davis Schryer, Tripp Livingstone, Sacha Ritter, Erica and Alex Schryer, Taylor and Spencer MacLean and Ben, Ashley and Max Schryer. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Scotty and Blake Uren. At the request of the family, no visitation or memorial service will be held.
