Obituary of Hazen Francis Taylor

While surrounded by his loving family, Frank Taylor of Quispamsis, husband of Louise (Emmerson) Taylor, passed away peacefully, at his residence, on Friday, May 7th, 2010, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Hazen and Anna (Kerrigan) Taylor. Frank is a University of New Brunswick graduate. He began his teaching career in Salisbury and later became Principal at Norton Junior High School where he spent the last 22 years of his career, retiring in 1992. Most recently he was instrumental in getting the Province of New Brunswick to recognize and provide medical coverage for the drug Avastin, which has been made available to all residents of New Brunswick who required treatment for Colorectal Cancer. Besides “The Love of His Life”, Louise, Frank is also survived by three beautiful daughters, Kim Taylor (Ed Nickerson) of Quispamsis, Beth Taylor (Danielle Ramsay) of Moncton and Heather Porter (John) of Quispamsis; one sister, Alice Leach (Jack) of Orleans, ON; he was known as “Papa” to his six grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor, Isaac, Leah, Jack and Cameron; as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Mark Andrew. At the family’s request, no visitation will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Monday, May 10th, 2010, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow the Mass, in the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date.
