Obituary of Bessie Edna Bernard

The death of Bessie Bernard of Kennebec Manor, Saint John, NB, formerly of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Emmanuel Bernard, occurred Sunday, December 27th, 2009, at her residence. Born in Foxley River, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Enman. Bessie loved playing cards and she had many fond memories of her time spent playing those “famous” card games with family and friends. Most of all, Bessie loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Bessie is survived by four daughters, Winnie Richardson and Wilma Williston both of Quispamsis, Iris Hood (Rick) of Victoria, BC and Gail Kristoff (Larry) of Surrey, BC; two sons, Cyrus Bernard (Dianne) of Sackville, NB and Denzil Bernard (Rayma) of Harvey Station, NB; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Bessie was also predeceased by one son, Everett Bernard; three sisters and four brothers. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation Sunday from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, January 4th, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John.
