Obituary of Sheila Elizabeth Mary Percival

The death of Sheila Percival of Kings Way Care Centre. Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Robert Percival, occurred Wednesday, December 9th, 2009, at her residence. Born in Birkenhead, England, on November, 29th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Jones) Leahy. In her earlier years, Sheila was very active in the art world. She enjoyed visiting numerous art galleries and socializing along side her beloved husband at various art shows and exhibitions. She was his “ears” and enjoyed her time working and assisting him throughout his career in the art industry. Sheila loved to dance and enjoyed listening to all types of music. She took great delight in gardening and in her later years, she looked forward to spending time with her friends at Tim Horton’s. However and most of all, she treasured her time spent with her family, especially her two very special great-grandchildren. Sheila is survived by two daughters, Ann Percival (Clive Douthwright) of Quispamsis and Sheina Percival of Rothesay; six grandchildren, Paul Nixon (Joy), Mike Nixon (Tara), Allisan Bailey (Jamie), Ariel Grayner, Nathan Monahan and Courtney Monahan (Chris); two great-grandchildren, Casey and Olivia; several step-grandchildren; as well as, dear friend, Helen Withrow. Besides her husband and parents, Sheila was also predeceased by one sister in infancy, Moira Leahy and two sons-in-law, Herb Nixon and Donald Blanchard. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2009, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119. A reception will immediately follow the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
