Obituary of Stella Marie O'Leary

The death of Stella O’Leary of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, formerly of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late John O’Leary, occurred Thursday, December 3rd, 2009, at her residence. Born in Richibucto, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Robichaud) Mazerolle. Stella was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Parish. She belonged to and participated in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58. Stella enjoyed and spent numerous hours volunteering at the Kennebecasis Food Basket; as well as, the Kennebecasis Valley Library and Meals-on-Wheels. Stella was honourably recognized by receiving certificates of appreciation in 1992 and again in 2005 for her outstanding volunteer work within her community. Stella is survived by two daughters, Becky MacDonald (Fred) and Joy O’Leary (Alan Lemoine), both of Quispamsis; one son, Joe O’Leary of Halifax, NS; daughter-in-law, Karen O’Leary of Quispamsis; five much loved grandchildren, Todd MacDonald, Andrew MacDonald (Kimberly), Breanne O’Leary (Rob), Gregg O’Leary and Patrick MacDonald; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Stella was also predeceased by one son, Hugh O’Leary. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Legion Auxiliary Service will be held by the members and auxiliary members of the RCL Branch #58 on Sunday at 7:00 PM, followed by Vigil Prayers at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Monday, December 7th, 2009, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow the Mass, in the church hall. Following cremation, interment will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Rothesay.
