Obituary of Fern Ava Campbell

The death of Fern (Emmerson) Campbell of Quispamsis, wife of the late Bruce MacKey Campbell, occurred on Saturday, October 10th, 2009, at her residence. Born in Lacombe, AB, on April 8th, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Norah (Fournier) Peters. Fern was a Registered Nurse with a degree in Public Health from Dalhousie University. She worked for many years at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Edmundston, and retired from the Moncton City Hospital after 40 years in nursing. Fern is survived by three daughters, Susan Sherrard (Keith) of Quispamsis, NB, Colleen Buss (Michael) of Port Moody, BC and Nora MacNeil (Bob) of Quispamsis, NB; twin sons, Edward McLaughlin (Gemma) of Mont St. Hilaire, QC and John McLaughlin (Joan) of Penticton, BC; one brother, Clarence Peters (Raymonde) of Edmundston, NB; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Susan Carolyn Henderson of Nauwigewauk. She was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy, and two brothers, Albert and Irving. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held from the chapel at Kennebecasis Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Plaster Rock, at a later date.
